The Burgee Exchange Challenge

When members from one Yacht Club visit another it’s customary to exchange burgees with the visited club. It’s part of the century’s old yacht club tradition.
So, here’s your chance to use your Canyon Lake Yacht Club burgee to spread goodwill and Yacht Club greetings with other clubs that you visit. And to be recognized as a major “yachtee” when you visit those clubs.
Here are the rules:
-
When you buy a CLYC burgee, carry it with you when you visit other Yacht Clubs that don’t have one of our burgees. Check below to see which clubs already have one of our burgees, as those are out of play.
-
Exchange the CLYC burgee for one of their burgees, get a photo of you exchanging burgees, and bring the other Yacht Club burgee back to us with your photo.
-
We’ll give you a brand new CLYC burgee in exchange for the other club burgee.
-
You’ll earn recognition plus points toward winning the contest.
Here’s how you win:
-
You get one Yacht Club gold Commodore’s star for every non-duplicated burgee that you bring back.
-
At the end of the year, we’ll honor the member with the most gold stars with a special gift and recognition, a photo and writeup in the CLYCCA.org website.

Trust me, we won’t call you the “burgee-meister,” but we will give you a nice title, and all Canyon Lake will recognize you for being a major Yacht Club player.
There are close to 1,000 Yacht Clubs to visit and exchange burgees with. Special recognition for the farthest distance Yacht Club burgee brought back.
Gotta a burgee? Get goin’ and smooth sailing!
